Kerryn Hocking is an Adelaide based Artist working in pastels. She commenced with pastels in earnest
in 2005. In 2007 she made a decision that her direction was to be wildlife. In
2009 Kerryn joined ‘Pastel Artists of SA' .
Kerryn enjoys painting wildlife portraits to
capture the unique qualities of each species and to feel up close and connected
to the animal. She prefers a realism style to portray the strength, character and
beauty of each animal.
Her most recent exhibition at the Santos
Conservation centre at the Adelaide Zoo was a huge success.

Conservation
Statement
"Man cannot survive without wilderness and wildlife
on this planet. Overpopulation by humans is this planet's greatest threat due
to pollution, destruction of natural habitats, greed, and competition with
animals for food, water and space. Every species has a part to play on this
planet and the more species we destroy, the harder it will be to maintain
nature's balance. Animals use natural population controls, but humans
naively think this does not apply to us."
