Artist Bio: Katrina Allan

Katrina Allan
Semaphore artist Katrina Allan graduated with distinctions from Advertising and Graphic Design in 1985. For the last 27 years she has worked in Adelaide as both a designer and commercial illustrator. She now runs her own graphic design company and, in her spare time, she paints canvases to fill the walls of her house. Katrina held a very successful first solo exhibition of acrylic paintings in May this year.

Katrina has always had a love of animals from a very young age, growing up in a menagerie of birds, cats, reptiles and dogs. A member of the Adelaide Zoo for the last 25 years she now lives with her own every growing collection of animals and birds.

Conservation Statement
"I love to replicate the beautiful detail found in the feathers and fur of exotic creatures, bringing a little of the wild in to our homes. In doing so, I hope to raise awareness of the delicate balance of these animals in their natural habitat"
