Artist Bio: Penny MacLaren


Penny MacLaren
An experienced art teacher and SACE examiner. Penny’s oil and pastel artworks has been exhibited in leading galleries and is held in private collections around the world. Penny specializes in portraiture, particularly animals and also completes landscapes. Recently Penny was a finalist in the International Equine Art Prize and the Australian Mortimore Art Prize.




Conservation Statement
My vision for conservation is for a worldwide understanding, love and connection with the planet and beyond. An enthusiasm and wonder for the incredible beauty and complexity of our planets ecosystems which really should be come part of our culture so that conservation is permanent and a way of life. Hopefully the beauty I try to capture in my artwork is a tiny step in this direction.”

Creating for Conservation
Penny is exhibiting in the Creating for Conservation Art Exhibition 2012. The pieces [pictured] are representative of her work. The pieces Penny chooses to exhibit will be available for purchase at the C4C2012 Exhibition only [no online sales]. Proceeds from C4C2012 are dedicated to Chipembele Wildlife Education Trust - Zambia. Please come along on the opening night on 2nd November or over the weekend 2nd November to 4th November to see Penny’s work and that of the other fantastic contributing Artists.
