Artist Bio: Mandy Chalmer


Mandy Chalmer
Mandy (Amanda) Chalmer is a secondary school visual arts teacher with over 30 years teaching experience. In 2008, after sporadic efforts to produce her own work, she decided to create a body of work for an exhibition at Pepper Street Gallery in 2011, titled ‘Anthropocentric’. Mandy have also exhibited in various group shows including’ First of the Friends’ and ‘bibs and Bobs’.

Conservation Statement
"I am a volunteer tour guide for Monarto Zoo and passionate about conservation. I always seek to raise awareness of global and conservation issues with the students I teach in the hope that they realise that with united efforts we can make a difference to the world we live in."

Mandy is exhibiting in the Creating for Conservation Art Exhibition 2012. The pieces [pictured] are representative of her work. The pieces Mandy chooses to exhibit will be available for purchase at the C4C2012 Exhibition only [no online sales]. Proceeds from C4C2012 are dedicated to Chipembele Wildlife Education Trust - Zambia. Please come along on the opening night on 2nd November or over the weekend 2nd November to 4th November to see Mandy’s work and that of the other fantastic contributing Artists.
